Windows 7 public beta

I finished downloading Windows 7 public beta released on Friday by Microsoft. If you want to see a demo of it go to Microsoft.com and watch Ballmer’s keynote. I’m installing it as VM on my MacBook. I’ll post my thoughts after it’s up and running.

Head's Up!

I'm sure everyone know by know that the CES(Consumer Electronics Show) is going under way...what you didn't? You should be ashamed of yourself! just kidding :). Well it is under way and boy are there some sweet stuff being announced. Everything from 1/2 inch thick 55 inch lcd tv's, to personalized GPS systems, to digital photo frame/wireless routers, to touch screen wristwatch phones, and lots of other goodies! The list can go on and on but I'll let you guys take a look for yourself. The best places to checkout what's happening are Engadget and Gizmodo. Both do an awesome job of keeping current with the show.

On another note, Microsoft has announced the official release of Windows 7 beta for tomorrow. I'll be giving it a try under VMWare and reporting back with my review so keep your eyes peeled.

On another 'nother note, I'm planning on building a mac pro. That's right, a custom mac pro for around $800 and better specs than the official Mac Pro's. I'll be doing it with the help of a gadget called EFiX. I'll keep you guys up to date on the progress.

Phew, that was quite a bit. Now onto your comments: What gadgets are you most looking forward to this year? What impresses you the most from the CES so far? What do you think needs to be improved upon in current technologies?

Ding!

So after 11+ hours of being 70, I finally lvled to 71 last night.  It felt really amazing and the best part is, that not once did I ever get bored in that 11 hours.  I've finally discovered that it's not how fast you get here or there, but how much fun you have while you're doing it.  I think the content in Northrend is really inspired and that definitely  helps, but I'm also not the player I was when I was in my 30's.  Is it because I do see the end?  Is it because I know I won't have another 10 lvl's for a year or two?  Or is it me.  It doesn't really matter actually.  All that does is that I'm really enjoying WoW.  I also think it has probably saved me a little money because I have not been buying other games.  Win, win all around.

It was also the first time I've completed Utgarde Keep .  I died twice which only show's me I still have a lot of learning to do but the PUG I was with was very nice and helpful.  I also rolled on an excellent piece of gear that was a great upgrade and huge improvement over what I was using .

What about the rest of you playing WoW.  What's the experience like now that most everyone has had some time in game.  What lvl are you and what personal achievements are you working and excited for?

A new year...

Hello all, and Happy New Year.  Our time of slacking is over and it's time to get back to work.  I would really like to figure out a new URL so we could get a few things rolling so...if anyone still reads this I would like everyone to submit a URL by friday.  We can then create a poll for us to vote and the most votes wins.  If you disagree with this idea let me know.  If we don't get enough response we can push the deadline a bit.

As any true Mac geek would be, my excitement fills me.  I'll be following the event on every major communications outlet.  You can follow along on my Twitter feed for highlights.
